Discover the Elegance of Handmade Ghanaian Brass Beads

Experience the cultural richness with this exclusive strand of brass beads, meticulously handcrafted by the Ashanti artisans of Ghana, West Africa. Each bead is shaped using the ancient and revered "Lost Wax" technique, ensuring a unique creation that tells a story of skill and tradition.

  • Length: Approximately 22 inches (56 cm) from bead to bead
  • Bead Size: Each bead measures between 27-29 mm in length and 10 mm in diameter

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

Using a process where each wax mold is destroyed to extract the solid brass bead, our skilled artisans ensure that each piece is a testament to their craftsmanship and the rich Ghanaian heritage.

Lost Wax Technique & Cultural Heritage

The Lost Wax technique is a traditional art form perfected by Ghanaian craftsmen. This labor-intensive process involves crafting a unique wax model for each bead, which is then encased in clay. As the clay hardens, the wax is melted away, leaving a detailed mold. Molten brass is poured into this mold, forming beads that are rich in detail and history. This method not only produces intricately designed beads but also supports the sustainability of artisan skills in Ghana.
