Discover the beauty and craftsmanship of our Krobo recycled glass beads, handmade by the talented artisans of Kroboland, Ghana. These stunning translucent beads are designed to imitate old Venetian glass trade beads, making them a unique addition to any jewelry collection.

  • Bead Size: 9 mm in diameter
  • Strand Length: Approximately 20 1/2" (52 cm)

Each bead is meticulously crafted from recycled glass bottles and other glass items. The glass is crushed into a fine powder, then carefully molded to create these exquisite beads. This eco-friendly process not only produces beautiful beads but also helps reduce glass waste.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The technique used by the Krobo people to produce these beads is a centuries-old tradition. Recycled glass is transformed into fine powder and then skillfully molded and fired in kilns. This method not only preserves the environment but also continues the cultural heritage of African trade beads, which have played a significant role in trade and cultural exchange across Africa for centuries.
