  • Condition: Very good, with one bead lightly chipped at the end (see photos)

These antique Venetian wound glass beads, also known as lampwork beads, are crafted using an intricate process where molten glass is wound around a metal rod and decorated with colorful trails, creating the iconic "Eye" pattern. Venetian beads like these played a significant role in the African trade, especially in Ghana and across West Africa, where they were highly valued and used as a form of currency and status symbol.
