Rare Antique Yellow Bicone "King" Venetian Lampwork Glass Trade Beads

Rare Antique Yellow Bicone "King" Venetian Lampwork Glass Trade Beads

Presenting a beautiful matching pair of rare, OLD yellow BICONE "KING" Venetian wound glass trade beads with exquisite trail decoration. These rare glass beads were crafted in Venice and are an excellent example of antique lampwork beads used in the African trade during the late 1800s to early 1900s.

  • Bead Size: 11-12 mm x 10 mm
  • Condition: Very good condition (minor decoration loss, few air bubbles; see photos)

These Venetian beads are carefully made using the lampwork technique, where each bead is wound by hand from molten glass around a metal rod. This process, developed in Venice, produces beads with unique air bubbles and slight imperfections, adding to their charm and historical value. Known as African trade beads, they were highly valued in Ghana and other parts of Africa, playing a significant role in trade and cultural exchange throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries.
