Venetian lampwork beads, also known as wound glass beads, were made using a meticulous process where molten glass is wound around a rod to form the bead. Skilled Venetian artisans decorated these beads with trail designs, adding artistic flair to each piece. These beads were highly prized in the African trade, particularly in Ghana and other West African regions, where they were used as a currency and to signify wealth and status. These unique, antique beads hold historical significance and are sought after by collectors worldwide.
