Beautiful strand of large size SPINDLE WHORLS (26-29 mm in diameter) from Mali, West Africa.
Each bead is decorated with unique etched design.
They were originally used to firm the spindle (tool to produce yarns) but often used as ornaments as well.
The necklace is in very good condition.
The length of the strand is 27" (69 cm) of beads.
