Authentic African Tabular Brass Beads, Handmade in Ghana – 21¾" Strand

Authentic African Tabular Brass Beads, Handmade in Ghana – 21¾" Strand

Discover this authentic strand of NEW TABULAR brass beads, skillfully handcrafted by the people of Ashanti in Ghana, West Africa. Each bead is made using the ancient “lost wax” technique, an age-old process where a unique wax mold is crafted for every individual bead. Once cast, the mold is destroyed, ensuring that no two beads are ever identical. These 100% handmade beads are a testament to the artisanal traditions of Africa.

  • Strand Length: Approx. 21¾ inches (55 cm) – measured bead to bead.
  • Bead Size: Approx. 21-22 mm (length) x 20-21 mm (width) x 9-10 mm (depth).

Each bead is meticulously crafted, embodying the skill and dedication of Ghanaian artisans. These brass beads are more than just jewelry components; they are a piece of African history and culture, passed down through generations.

The lost wax casting technique, which dates back centuries in Africa, is revered for its precision and uniqueness. Artisans create intricate wax models by hand, encase them in clay, and melt the wax away, leaving behind a perfect mold. Molten brass is then poured into this mold, resulting in stunning, one-of-a-kind beads once the mold is broken. This process reflects the deep cultural significance and craftsmanship of African brass beads.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
