African Brass Beads – Handmade Round Beads from Ghana, 24" Strand

African Brass Beads – Handmade Round Beads from Ghana, 24" Strand

Explore the beauty of these handmade African brass beads from Ghana. Crafted by the skilled artisans of the Ashanti people, these round beads are a timeless expression of traditional African craftsmanship. Each bead is meticulously created using the ancient "lost wax" technique, ensuring that every piece is a unique work of art.

The strand measures 24 inches (61 cm) from bead to bead, making it ideal for a wide range of jewelry projects or personal collections. These brass beads have diameters ranging from 11 mm to 14 mm, giving each strand a dynamic and varied appearance.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

Each bead is created through the intricate lost wax casting process. This ancient method involves shaping a wax mold for each individual bead, which is then encased in clay. The wax is melted and replaced by molten brass, after which the mold is destroyed, revealing a unique brass bead. No two beads are exactly alike due to this labor-intensive process.

Brass beads have a deep cultural significance in Ghana, particularly among the Ashanti people. For centuries, they have symbolized wealth, status, and artistry, often worn for special occasions and passed down through generations. Today, they continue to hold value as both functional adornments and pieces of history.
