Each bead is entirely handmade, reflecting the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans. This ensures that no two beads are exactly alike, offering a distinct, authentic aesthetic that will enhance any jewelry creation or collection.

The Lost Wax Technique & History of Brass Beads in Ghana

The ancient lost wax technique has been used in Africa for centuries, particularly in the Ashanti region of Ghana. This process begins with the creation of a wax mold, which is carefully sculpted by hand. Once the mold is prepared, it is covered in clay and baked, causing the wax to melt and leave a cavity. Molten brass is then poured into the cavity, and once cooled, the clay mold is broken to reveal the final brass bead.

Brass beads hold deep cultural significance in Ghana, symbolizing wealth, status, and tradition. These beads are often used in ceremonial regalia, passed down through generations as cherished heirlooms. Today, they continue to be a powerful symbol of African heritage and craftsmanship.
