Authentic African Brass Round Beads - 12mm, Handmade in Ghana, 20.5"
Introducing a beautiful matching strand of authentic round brass beads, meticulously handmade by the Ashanti people in Ghana, West Africa. Each bead on this strand is crafted using the traditional "lost wax" technique, where a unique wax mold is prepared for each bead. Once the bead is cast, the mold is destroyed, making every piece completely one-of-a-kind.
Key Features:
- Strand Length: 20 1/2" (52 cm) long (from bead to bead)

These beads are 100% handmade, giving them an authentic African touch that reflects the cultural richness of Ghana’s Ashanti artisans. YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).
About the Lost Wax Technique: This ancient method has been used for centuries by African artisans. The lost wax process involves shaping wax models by hand, which are then covered in clay and left to harden. Once the clay mold is complete, it is heated, causing the wax to melt away and leave a cavity for molten brass. After cooling, the mold is broken, and the unique bead is revealed. This process gives each bead a distinctive and intricate design, embodying the artistry and history of African brass beads.
History and Significance: Brass beads hold deep cultural significance in Ghana. Worn as symbols of wealth, status, and heritage, these beads have been cherished for centuries. Crafted by the Ashanti people, they are not just decorative items but embody the spirit of African craftsmanship and tradition.
