Authentic African Brass Beads Strand from Ghana – 27.5" Handmade

Authentic African Brass Beads Strand from Ghana – 27.5" Handmade

This beautiful strand of handmade African brass beads originates from the talented artisans of the Ashanti people in Ghana, West Africa. Each bead is meticulously crafted using the ancient Lost Wax Technique, a time-honored process passed down through generations.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

  • Strand length: 27.5 inches (70 cm) from bead to bead
  • Bead size: 11-20 mm in diameter

Each bead on this strand is unique, with its own handmade mold crafted from wax. After casting, the mold is destroyed, making each bead one-of-a-kind. The beads are 100% handmade, showcasing the rich heritage and skill of Ghanaian artisans.

The Lost Wax Technique used to create these beads is an ancient method where artisans first sculpt a model in wax. This model is then encased in clay to form a mold. When the clay is fired, the wax melts away, leaving a cavity that is filled with molten brass. Once the brass cools, the clay mold is broken to reveal the finished bead. Because the mold is destroyed during the process, each bead is entirely unique.

Brass beads hold great significance in Ghanaian culture, often used in ceremonies and to symbolize wealth and power. These beautiful strands carry the tradition and values of African artistry, making them perfect for collectors or as statement pieces in jewelry designs.
