Discover the beauty of these NEW translucent powder glass African beads, handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These exquisite beads are inspired by old Venetian glass trade beads, bringing a touch of history and elegance to your collection.

  • Strand Length: Approximately 20 1/4" (51.5 cm)
  • Bead Size: Approximately 14 mm in diameter

These Krobo glass beads are made from recycled glass bottles and other glass items, which are crushed into a fine powder and then molded to create each unique bead. The entire process is done by hand, ensuring that each strand is truly one-of-a-kind.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The traditional techniques used by the people of Krobo to produce these recycled powder glass beads are passed down through generations, preserving an important aspect of Ghanaian culture. Trade beads have played a significant role in African history, serving not only as decorative items but also as a form of currency and a means of communication between tribes.
