Antique African Fulani cloth blanket Kaasa Khasa Mali textile Sahara Art

This is an authentic KHASA ( Kaasa ) all wool / cotton hand woven blanket. ( Hand spun / sheeps wool with cotton).

This blankets are used by the Fulani ( Peul ) people to protect them during the cold nights and mosquitoes.

This blanket was collected from Mali ( West Africa ) and dates from the 1960s.

The size of the Kaasa is 107 1/2" (273 cm) x 54 3/4" (139 cm) and is in good condition for its age with the exception of few holes, some worn areas, few stains and some wear due to age and usage.

This type of blankets have 5 warps of cloth sewn together to form a single piece of cloth.
