Translucent Powder Glass African Beads - Made in Kroboland, Ghana

Introducing our stunning strand of translucent powder glass African beads, meticulously handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Kroboland, Ghana. These beads are a beautiful imitation of old Bohemian/Czech flower glass trade beads, bringing a touch of history and authenticity to your jewelry collection.

  • Strand Length: Approximately 20" (51 cm) long
  • Bead Size: Approximately 9 mm in diameter

These exquisite beads are made from recycled glass bottles and other glass items, which are finely crushed into a powder. This powder is then carefully molded to create each unique bead. The result is a set of 100% handmade beads that are not only beautiful but also eco-friendly.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

Craftsmanship and Tradition

The technique used by the Krobo people to produce these recycled powder glass beads is a time-honored tradition. By crushing recycled glass and bottles into a fine powder, they are able to create vibrant and unique beads that are highly sought after. These beads hold significant cultural importance in Ghana and across Africa, often used in ceremonies, as symbols of wealth, and in trade.
