Discover the beauty and craftsmanship of our stunning new strand of X-Large size translucent multicolored powder glass African beads, made by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These exquisite beads are designed to imitate the look of old Venetian glass trade beads, adding a touch of history and elegance to any piece.

Sizes:

  • Strand Length: 24 1/2" (63 cm)
  • Bead Diameter: 21 - 22 mm

Each bead is meticulously handcrafted from recycled bottles and other glass items, which are crushed into a fine powder. This powder is then placed into molds and carefully shaped to create the beautiful beads you see here. The entire process is done by hand, ensuring that every bead is unique.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The people of Krobo have been perfecting the art of bead making for generations, using traditional methods passed down through the ages. These recycled glass beads are not only a testament to their incredible skill and creativity but also a reflection of the importance of trade beads in Ghana and throughout Africa. Trade beads have played a significant role in the cultural and economic exchanges across the continent, symbolizing wealth, social status, and the rich history of African trade routes.
