Introducing a stunning strand of NEW translucent powder glass African beads, handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These beads beautifully imitate the look of old Venetian glass trade beads, offering a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.

  • Length of strand: 22 1/2" (57 cm)
  • Bead size: 10 mm in diameter

Each bead is meticulously made from recycled bottles and other glass items. The glass is crushed into a fine powder and then shaped in molds to create these exquisite beads. This eco-friendly process not only produces gorgeous beads but also helps in recycling and reusing glass materials.

These beads are 100% handmade, reflecting the dedication and craftsmanship of the Krobo people.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The technique used by the Krobo people to produce these recycled powder glass beads is a time-honored tradition, passed down through generations. The process involves crushing recycled glass into a fine powder, which is then carefully molded and fired. This method not only showcases the artisans' skills but also highlights the importance of sustainable practices. Trade beads like these have significant cultural and historical value in Ghana and across Africa, symbolizing trade and communication between different communities and regions.
