A beautiful strand of different NEW large powder glass African beads, made by the people of Kroboland/Krobo , IMITATING old Venetian FANCY trade beads , handmade large BATIK bone beads from Kenya and RECENT example of SPINDLE WHORLS from Mali .


The glass beads (Kroboland-Ghana , West Africa) are made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then into molds in order to create this nice looking beads.

"BATIK" bone beads are made in Kenya , East Africa , from animals bones (mostly from cow).

RECENT example of SPINDLE WHORLS clay beads from Mali.


Each bead is decorated with unique etched design.


They were originally used to firm the spindle (tool to produce yarns) but often used as ornaments as well. 

The strand is 24" ( 61 cm ) long ( of beads ). The size of the beads is app. 22 - 28 mm in diameter.

All beads are 100 % handmade.
