The Lost Wax Technique

These brass beads are created using the ancient lost wax casting method. Artisans carefully hand-sculpt each bead from wax, then encase the wax in a clay mold. When heated, the wax melts away, leaving a hollow mold into which molten brass is poured. Once the brass cools, the mold is broken, revealing a one-of-a-kind bead. This method has been used for centuries and showcases the rich cultural heritage of African craftsmanship.
