Introducing our stunning strand of NEW powder glass African beads, meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These beads are inspired by the exquisite designs of old Venetian FANCY trade beads, offering a unique blend of tradition and artistry.

Each bead is made from recycled bottles and other glass items, which are ground into powder and then molded to create these beautiful beads. The entire process is 100% handmade, ensuring that each strand is a unique work of art.

Technique and Craftsmanship
The creation of these fancy beads involves a meticulous process that has been passed down through generations among the Krobo people. The artisans start by pulverizing recycled glass into a fine powder. This powder is then carefully placed into clay molds, where it is shaped into beads.
Decoration
What sets fancy beads apart is the detailed decoration process. Artisans use a combination of glass fragments, powdered glass, and natural dyes to create intricate patterns and vibrant designs. They may use metal or wooden tools to etch or paint detailed motifs onto the beads.
Firing
The decorated beads are then fired in a kiln. The high temperatures fuse the glass powder and set the designs in place, giving the beads their final form. This process not only ensures durability but also brings out the vivid colors and intricate patterns that make these beads so special.
