Handmade African Brass Beads Strand from Ghana – 23" Lost Wax Beads

Handmade African Brass Beads Strand from Ghana – 23" Lost Wax Beads

Discover a beautiful, matching strand of handmade brass beads crafted by the people of Ashanti in Ghana, West Africa, using the ancient "Lost Wax" technique. Each bead is meticulously formed, making every piece unique and truly special. This traditional method involves creating a one-time wax mold for each bead, which is destroyed to release the final brass product, ensuring no two beads are ever identical.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

  • Strand Length: Approximately 23" (58 cm) – measured from bead to bead.
  • Bead Size: 27-30 mm in length, 10 mm in diameter.

These authentic brass beads are 100% handmade in Ghana by skilled artisans from the Ashanti region, preserving centuries of African craftsmanship. The "Lost Wax" casting technique has been passed down through generations. Each wax mold is shaped by hand, then covered in clay and heated, allowing the wax to melt away and leave a cavity to cast the molten brass. This ancient method reflects the deep history of brasswork in Ghana, symbolizing status, wealth, and spiritual significance.

Brass beads like these are not only stunning pieces of jewelry but also cultural artifacts, embodying the history, artistry, and rich traditions of the Ashanti people.
