Discover the elegance of our NEW translucent powder glass African beads, handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Kroboland in Ghana, West Africa. These beads are inspired by the timeless beauty of old Venetian glass trade beads, offering a unique blend of history and artistry.

  • Strand Length: Approximately 21 1/2" (54.5 cm)
  • Bead Size: 13-14 mm in diameter

Each bead is meticulously crafted from recycled glass bottles and other glass items. The glass is crushed into a fine powder and then poured into molds to create these exquisite beads. This traditional technique not only preserves the environment by recycling materials but also upholds the rich cultural heritage of the Krobo people.

YOUR STRAND WILL BE IDENTICAL TO THE STRAND SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPH (GIVEN NORMAL VARIATION SINCE THESE BEADS ARE ALL COMPLETELY HANDMADE).

The Krobo people have mastered the art of bead-making over generations. This intricate process begins with crushing recycled glass into a fine powder. The powder is then carefully poured into molds and heated in a kiln. Each bead is hand-finished, ensuring no two beads are exactly alike, adding to their unique charm. Trade beads like these have played a significant role in the history of commerce and culture in Ghana and throughout Africa.

Preciosas!

Excelente compra!
