The Lost Wax technique, an ancient method dating back thousands of years, involves carefully sculpting wax models that are used to form intricate, one-of-a-kind brass pieces. The wax mold is covered in clay, then melted away to leave a hollow form, into which molten brass is poured. After the brass cools, the clay is broken away, and the final bead is revealed.
Brass beads hold a deep cultural significance in Ghana, where they are treasured not only as symbols of wealth and status but also for their beauty and craftsmanship. These beads, especially those made by the Ashanti, continue to be a symbol of African heritage and tradition.
